According to the fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili, the creation of an organization "for the protection of Georgian values ​​and traditions" is a great insult to the Georgian police as an institution.

According to Zubarishvili, all the events mean that "the regime does not trust the police."

According to her, the Georgian Dream is deliberately destroying the state.

"We see that today there is a force on the streets that nothing can stop, the law is no longer supreme, which should govern the country. Everything, even the establishment of this group, is happening without the law. With the establishment of this group, in fact, distrust has been declared towards the police as an institution," Zurabishvili said.

When asked what should be done to prevent the confrontations from escalating into violence, Zurabishvili replied that the other side should not engage in provocation.

She also said that she does not agree with banners and appeals of certain content, which, in her opinion, contribute to the deepening of the confrontation. Zurabishvili noted that criticism should be based on arguments, not insults.

"We should not engage in this challenge, these provocations, because the polarization and confrontation comes from one side. We have seen how "bots" and "trolls" have been working endlessly over these months and years to provoke people. From our side, there was no insult to individuals, but criticism of the regime. I will take my example, I criticized the regime in many ways from the rostrum of the parliament and received the cry of "traitor" from the prime minister, in front of the army. This is the form in which the regime operates. It responds to criticism with curses and you have all experienced this. Cursing and insults rise to a new level every day. It is a very big challenge for citizens and an attempt to move us to the same mode,” Zurabishvili said.

Speaking on the issue of taking the mentioned organization seriously, Zurabishvili said that, in her assessment, this is not a spontaneously created union and she sees the strategic interests of the government in it.

According to her, the goal of such processes may be to divide society and provoke destabilization, but citizens should not resort to creating violent groups in response.

“We also need to take this organization seriously, because this is a message from the regime. This is not a spontaneous, self-created organization. Look at their faces and you will understand that this is not really their idea, this is a strategy to destabilize the country, which fits perfectly into the usual old Russian strategy of how to destabilize the country. Very old tools are being used. We should take this seriously.

On the other hand, we should take it lightly, because these people are not serious and in no case should we cause the opposite reaction: we should not find big-muscled people somewhere and start creating the same kind of group and confronting them. The ultimate goal of such groups is for such groups to appear on both sides and then grow, which will not grow, because we have already gained experience, we know how Russia operates, so we should not allow this. We have so much self-awareness of how much this country and peace are worth to us, there is no need to shout "we don't want war". We want peace in this country and we do not want to give way to the instruments of destabilization that Russia will invent through the hands of the Georgian Dream, - said Zurabishvili.
