This is treason - truly, unquestionably, and not only in political, emotional dimensions, but also in legal terms - this is how Nika Gvaramia, leader of the Coalition for Change, responds to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze's statement regarding the August war.

As Gvaramia explains, the question of who started the war and when is closed to international courts and political institutions.

“This may have negative consequences for our country in international law, politics and geopolitics. This is what a criminal case should be initiated about.

Let’s put everything aside, what this man needs to say is completely incomprehensible and very suspicious. Why does a Georgian come out as a revisionist in a topic where Georgia is completely victorious and the question of who started the war and when is closed to international courts and political institutions (on the evening of August 7, Russia),” Gvaramia wrote, attaching the following statement made by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to the aforementioned post:

“The Russia-Georgia war began on August 8. On August 8, the Russian army entered, when the then President of Russia made a corresponding statement. What happened on August 7 was that the Saakashvili regime bombed Tskhinvali and then signed a resolution stating that the conflict entered the phase of large-scale hostilities precisely after this fact, when Saakashvili's bloody regime bombed Tskhinvali.”
