I will not comment on this issue for one simple reason - as I am told and I see interviews, this person [Aleko Elisashvili] is obsessed with me personally and for some reason he thinks that his crime was inspired by me, - this is how Minister of Regional Development Mamuka Mdinaradze answered a question about the conclusion of Transparency International Georgia regarding the Aleko Elisashvili case.

“How serious is this?! I don’t know what he has in mind. I will try to refrain from assessing this person’s actions and legal qualifications, because this person already has the impression that it was in my interest for him to commit a crime, burn down the courthouse or commit a terrorist act. I will not go into this assessment,” said Mdinaradze.

According to Transparency International Georgia, there is no terrorist intent in the actions of the leader of the Citizens, Aleksandre Elisashvili.

As stated in the statement released by the organization, considering Elisashvili's personality, his political affiliation, his systematic conflict with the ruling party in recent years, and other contextual circumstances, there is a reasonable suspicion that Elisashvili's conviction under the article of a terrorist act, and not damage to someone else's property, may have been made in order to punish one of the prominent representatives of the political opposition as an example and, at the same time, to cast a shadow over Elisashvili himself, the party of which he is a member, and, more generally, the entire pro-Western opposition.
