The escorting of 35-ton fuel tankers to the Enguri Bridge with the government's vehicles at night and their immediate passage once again reveals the fact, which was obvious - the Georgian government is using Russia as a lifeline - , - politician Roman Gotsiridze writes on social networks.

The former president of the National Bank calls the supply of fuel to occupied Abkhazia a "special operation" that is "carried out in gross violation of Georgian legislation."

As for the company "Repsol", which is involved in the supply of fuel, Gotsiridze believes that it will not be able to escape sanctions.

The oppositionist also believes that, in light of the government's "anti-state actions," serious doubts arise as to whether other types of goods were also entering Russia through the territory of Abkhazia.

“Despite the fact that gasoline destined for Abkhazia has entered Sochi and the Georgian authorities have given Russia a chance to breathe, the situation in this city is still difficult. The situation is aggravated by the fact that tourists cannot return home. This is due not only to the fact that passenger cars are left without fuel, but also to the fact that large buses are stopped. Added to this is the disruption of the Sochi airport due to air strikes by Ukraine, which further increases the dissatisfaction of tourists. The local population is also paralyzed.

The Dream government is helping the occupying country to defuse the difficult situation, easing the difficulty of fighting on two fronts and helping to evacuate Russian tourists stuck in Abkhazia. The Abkhaz authorities also use the fuel imported from here to supply law enforcement and other critically important structures.

As for the main participant in this fuel supply chain, the company “Repsol”, which owns the network of gas stations “Connect”, it will not be able to escape sanctions. It will also face criminal liability. As the owner of the intermediary Georgian LLC appointed by the government stated, Russian rubles are being brought from Abkhazia in bags, exchanged for GEL in local booths and several million GEL are transferred in cash to “Repsol”. This is clear money laundering. Neither the origin of the money brought from Abkhazia is known, nor has the obligation to declare more than 30 thousand GEL been fulfilled. In addition, it is impossible to determine exactly how much money was brought in and how much fuel was purchased. Here we may also be dealing with facts of concealment of income.

This anti-state action of the government has raised serious doubts: were other types of goods also entering Russia through the territory of Abkhazia?
