Rolling in the mud is Saakashvili’s choice, and together with him I do not intend to stir this dirt, entertain the spectators of the show, or make the Kotsi happy – if he has time for irresponsibility and unseriousness, I will give myself neither the right nor the opportunity for this, – this is the statement of one of the leaders of “Coalition for Change,” Nika Gvaramia, with which he responds on social media to a post published by Mikheil Saakashvili.
In Gvaramia’s assessment, today Saakashvili dared to tell a thousand lies and is consciously and deliberately blackening everyone and everything.
Gvaramia also writes with regard to Saakashvili that prison cannot serve as an endless justification and an all-encompassing indulgence.
“You will have noticed that I practically do not respond to political prisoner Saakashvili, and if I do respond, it is only because of the bullying of my friends or party members who are in prison. Not once have I responded to a personal attack on me, not once, but everything has a limit, including shamelessness, irresponsibility and insolence.
In this misfortune and turmoil, when we are facing the reality of the sale of the country, when a new Treaty of Georgievsk is being prepared for us, while the old history has been declared a golden page for us, when the issue of Abkhazia is at the centre of public attention and it is clear that a Russian scheme is being played by the regime, when the ‘Kochis’ are at each other’s throats and clearly cut up, when all of us together should be preparing for a united powerful response and uniting forces, today Saakashvili dared to tell a thousand lies. He called us all sold out and agreed with Bidzina or silenced by fear. He declared as such, for example, political prisoner Giorgi Chikvaidze, and of course the Coalition for Change, which in the recent period has been the main target of his aggression, ‘for some reason.’
Traditionally, the now Gaiagokhviched political prisoner again spoke about the money of the Gilauris, only this time he added that we supposedly did not enter parliament because we were afraid of political prostitution. At this time, we were the first and the ones setting the tone in refusing parliamentary mandates. Let him inquire in his own party what was happening in connection with that issue.
According to Saakashvili’s statement, the reason Nika, Zurab and Elene and I were arrested is that we overthrew Bidzina (that is, we broke the agreement with Bidzina). No one has yet dared such a shameful assessment of why we were arrested; Saakashvili dared it. That is why he deserves a response. Probably a much worse one, but I respect myself and my friends and will limit myself to this.
It has become a tradition that if you respond to Saakashvili’s lies and insults, immediately his ‘eternally victim’ party comes out wrapped in the mantle of the oppressed (like the fans of a football team that has lost, who complain about everything and make excuses ‘they smashed our man,’ approximately like that) and starts public wailing and telling ridiculous conspiracies. Bablu still fans the sparks, ‘what time is this for.’ Only when Saakashvili himself systematically sets up a hurricane of cursing the opposition in the right place, that is supposedly to be looked at with tolerance. As if the man who from a prison cell declares himself the alternative-free leader is politically poor and pitiful.
No, and he should not be pitiful either. The years of his rule, however many mistakes they may count, were so far the best in the history of independent Georgia. But neither should he write shameless lies, friends, and consciously and deliberately blacken everyone and everything. Nor should he be the one who ruins everything and curses everyone, nor the one who thinks only about himself. And prison cannot serve here as an endless justification and an all-encompassing indulgence. All the more so against the background when almost half of Georgia is sitting in prison, from teenagers to world stars over 70. And even more so when unity is the most important thing now.
All of this is shameful and that is why I put a full stop. Rolling in the mud is Saakashvili’s choice, and together with him I do not intend to stir this dirt, entertain the spectators of the show, or make the Kochis happy. If he has time for irresponsibility and unseriousness, I will give myself neither the right nor the opportunity for this. I will not go into moral assessments: I consider it neither correct nor necessary.
P.S. The ‘wall’ is closed for comments. Cursing anyone is not among my tasks, nor is anyone’s position on this issue,” Nika Gvaramia writes.
