Lawyer: Despite the court’s ruling, Levan Khabeishvili has not been returned his phone - if you cannot unlock a phone for a year, you will not be able to unlock it even after 10 years; therefore, I ask you to return to the imprisoned man the photos and videos of his children

Despite the court’s decision, Levan Khabeishvili has not been returned his phone - please comply with the court ruling and return to the imprisoned man the photos and videos of his children, - said Lasha Tkesheladze, lawyer for Levan Khabeishvili, one of the leaders of the United National Movement who is currently in custody.

According to him, failure to comply with a court ruling constitutes a criminal offense.

“It has been a year since the State Security Service (SSS) seized Levan Khabeishvili’s phone as part of an alleged investigative measure. When we told them that the phone contained photos and videos of Levan Khabeishvili’s children and asked them to return it, we were told that they could not return it until there was a court decision. I have the ruling in my possession, and it explicitly states that the phone must be returned to Levan Khabeishvili. The judge issued this decision three months ago, yet three months later, Levan Khabeishvili still has not been given his phone back.

“I would like to remind everyone that failure to comply with a court ruling is a criminal offense. If you have been unable to unlock Levan Khabeishvili’s phone for a year, even if another 10 years pass, you will not be able to unlock this phone. Therefore, I ask you to comply with the court ruling and return to the imprisoned man the photos and videos of his children,” Tkesheladze said.
