Prime Minister on Marta Kos’s statement: Europe already has countless problems; at such a time, when a European Commissioner is looking for a pretext for conflict with the US, this is, to put it mildly, strange

Such initiatives are very strange; Europe already has countless problems. At such a time, when a European Commissioner is looking for a pretext for conflict with the US, this is, to put it mildly, strange, - this was stated by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, thereby responding to the statement by European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.

According to him, it would be better if European politicians and bureaucrats were concentrated on solving the problems existing around Europe.

“Such initiatives are very strange; Europe already has countless problems. At such a time, when a European Commissioner is looking for a pretext for conflict with the US, this is, to put it mildly, strange. It would be better if European politicians and bureaucrats were concentrated on solving the problems existing around Europe; among other things, their entire attention should be directed toward settling relations with the United States of America and other countries; however, we see that their attention is directed, on the contrary, toward fanning conflicts and not toward regulating conflicts,” - Kobakhidze noted.

For reference, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos stated that candidate countries, in order to join the European Union, must sever ties with Donald Trump’s MAGA movement. “We must not risk that our future members develop dependencies on others that will be in contradiction with our long-term interests,” - Kos stated at an event organized by the Centre for European Policy Studies.
