Mamuka Baratashvili has been appointed as head of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, and Merab Gamkrelidze as head of the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance. This information is being released by the Government Administration.

According to the same source, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met the newly appointed heads of the services together with Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili.

“The Prime Minister congratulated them on their appointments and wished them success.

Mamuka Baratashvili has many years of work experience within the Ministry of Finance system. Among other positions, in 2020-2021 he was First Deputy Head of the LEPL Revenue Service; in 2011-2020 he headed the Tax and Customs Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance; at various times he was also Head of the Disputes Department of the Revenue Service and Head of the Legal Department.

Until now, Merab Gamkrelidze held the position of Head of the Legal Department of the Revenue Service. He has many years of experience working in the Investigative Service. In different years he served as Deputy Head of the Investigative Department, Head of the Adjara and Guria Division of the Investigative Department, Deputy Head of the Tbilisi Main Division of the Investigative Department; he also held the position of Deputy Head of the Sakvarelidze Forensic Expertise Bureau and worked as Deputy Head of the Department of Relations with Regions of the Administration of the Government of Georgia,” the information notes.
