"One year ago, Helenkhosh was arrested for a peaceful act of political protest. Today, she remains behind bars.
As Vice-President of ALDEParty, I stand in solidarity with Elene and with all Georgians who continue to defend democracy, fundamental freedoms and their country’s European future.
Political repression has no place in a European democracy. Elene must be free, and those persecuted for their political views must be able to speak and act without fear. Georgia belongs to its people, and their clear choice for a democratic and European future must be respected," writes Yevheniia Kravchuk.
