“For us, sustainable development means building a country that offers every citizen a healthy, safe and dignified life, transforms economic growth into an opportunity for everyone, protects natural resources, and ensures that state institutions operate effectively and transparently,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in a video address at an event titled “Sustainable Development Goals Moment 2026,” held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session.

According to the Prime Minister, Georgia once again reaffirms its shared commitment to sustainable development.

“It is a great honor for me to address the distinguished audience of the Sustainable Development Goals Moment 2026.

I would like to thank the United Nations for its continued leadership in advancing the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and for bringing countries together to reaffirm our shared commitment to sustainable development.

More than a decade ago, we embarked on an ambitious journey towards 2030 to transform our world for the better and achieve tangible results for people and the planet. In 2015, we committed to building a world where no one would be left behind in development. Georgia is a committed partner in this shared mission and remains firmly dedicated to accelerating progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
