Willy Sagnol has left the Georgia national football team. The information was released by the Georgian Football Federation.

According to the federation, Georgian coach Ramaz Svanadze will lead the national team until the end of 2028.

As for the U21 national team, which Svanadze has coached until now, the federation said that his assistant, Giorgi Adamia, will replace him for the final three matches of the qualifying stage.

“The Georgian national football team will be led by Georgian coach Ramaz Svanadze until the end of 2028. Svanadze will replace French coach Willy Sagnol as head coach.

Sagnol had been in charge of the Georgian national team since February 2021. During this period, the national team played 57 matches. Under Sagnol’s leadership, Georgia achieved historic success. In 2024, the team played in the final tournament of the European Championship for the first time, where it advanced from the group stage and reached the tournament’s round of 16.

Ramaz Svanadze had until now been in charge of Georgia’s U21 national team and led the youth side to the European Championship final tournament on two occasions.

In the final three matches of the U21 national team’s qualifying campaign, Svanadze will be replaced by his assistant, Giorgi Adamia.
