President Isaac Herzog says he will recommend that four Israelis aboard yesterday’s flydubai flight FZ1073 receive the Presidential Award for Civilian Heroism.

The four men he is recommending for the award include Yaniv Hayoun, Tzvika Manes, and Asaf Rajuan, who entered the cockpit and subdued the co-pilot after he stabbed Captain Smit Machchhar. He is also recommending Dr. Shota Musayev for the award for the lifesaving medical treatment he administered to the seriously injured Machchhar.

According to media reports, dentist Shota Musaev is of Georgian descent.

Dr. Shota Musaev was returning to Tel Aviv from China.

"I was the only doctor on the plane, and I ultimately managed to stop the bleeding and stabilize the blood pressure," Musaev noted in an interview with local media.
