Iranian Ambassador denies being bitten by a dog in Tbilisi

"One of our diplomats was harmed; not me!" Seyed Ali Moujani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Georgia, says on social media.

With this statement, the ambassador is addressing circulating reports claiming that he had been bitten by a dog in Tbilisi.

"When a dog loses its owner!

One of our diplomats was injured. The story spread, and it seemed as though something strange had happened: the diplomat had been promoted—becoming the ambassador.

An important clarification: I was not harmed! It seems the news reached the hospital before it reached me.

We wish our injured colleague a speedy recovery. If only some stories were spread more sensibly, accurately, and with convincing truthfulness!" the ambassador wrote.

As a reminder, reports circulated yesterday claiming that the Iranian ambassador had been bitten by a dog in Tbilisi and had broken his leg while trying to fend off the dogs.
