“Banning opposition parties through the courts effectively brings the political process to a standstill, while making change through elections virtually impossible. As a result, the country moves significantly closer to a radicalization of events,” says Viktor Kipiani, chairman of the political association “First Georgia.”
Kipiani calls on the authorities to fully consider the potential risks.
“If these risks turn into a real threat, the division into ‘winners and losers’ will become nothing more than a nominal statistic. In reality, we will all lose - the country will lose, and the resources that still remain, however limited, for qualitative development will be squandered.
“Think about it! Let us work together for Georgia first, rather than putting a party or ourselves first. And while there is still time, stop - let us give the country room to breathe politically,” Viktor Kipiani states.
