Mariam Kvrivishvili on her visit to the United Arab Emirates: Special emphasis was placed on strengthening trade between the two countries, which will facilitate the export of Georgian products to the United Arab Emirates

Following meetings held in the United Arab Emirates, Mariam Kvrivishvili—Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development—stated that a particular focus was placed on strengthening trade between the nations, a move that will support the export of Georgian products to the United Arab Emirates.

As Mariam Kvrivishvili noted, the bilateral discussions addressed new opportunities that will bring the two countries even closer together in terms of trade and economic relations.

"During the visit, we held bilateral meetings with the ministers responsible for foreign trade and the economy. We discussed new opportunities that will bring our two countries even closer in terms of trade and economic relations. Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening trade between the nations, which will naturally facilitate the export of Georgian products to the United Arab Emirates. We also focused on attracting investment; there is growing interest in the energy sector, as well as in real estate, hospitality, transport, and logistics. We anticipate that these efforts will yield very concrete and tangible results," noted Mariam Kvrivishvili.

According to the minister, there has been a significant improvement in air connectivity—specifically regarding flights from Dubai to the Georgian capital—which has positively contributed to the further strengthening of the country's tourism sector.

"During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on Georgia, which has significantly strengthened its role within the context of the Middle Corridor. We held an extensive discussion regarding major investment projects that the Government of Georgia is implementing in the near term to bolster the country's transport and logistics sector—specifically, our efforts to increase existing cargo throughput capacity from 15 million to 29 million tons. This entails the development of port, railway, land, and air infrastructure," stated Mariam Kvrivishvili.

Mariam Kvrivishvili is currently on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates, accompanied by her deputies, Genadi Arveladze and Irakli Nadareishvili.
