“National Movement” will take part in the historic process underway at the Constitutional Court – we are in full readiness for cooperation with every political group and party, because in struggle and action we must be united, all disagreements must be put aside, – this was stated by the Chairman of the Governing Council of “National Movement”, Irakli Pavlenishvili, responding to the scheduling of the consideration processes of the constitutional complaint prepared regarding the ban on opposition parties.
According to him, unity is essential in this process and, on behalf of “National Movement”, he expressed full readiness for cooperation with other political parties.
“‘National Movement’ will take part in the historic process underway at the Constitutional Court, which will be held next week. This process is historic due to the fact that the plaintiff side is composed of ethnic Georgians, yet in reality they are the mouthpieces of the Kremlin’s main demands and goals. What is the greatest misfortune is that they wish to legalize these demands – that is, to legalize Russification – in the highest judicial instance. Their complaint is based on the conclusion of the Commission on Betrayal, according to which Georgia started the 2008 war and Georgia had a criminal regime. In other words, the most successful, reformist government in the recent history of this country has been declared a criminal regime. All of this, according to international law, frees Russia’s hands for the fragmentation of Georgia’s territories. This is not a session underway about the ban on parties, but a session underway about the ban on the Georgian state. This is the desire to legalize a second 1921; we must renounce territorial integrity and sovereignty, because according to this conclusion every one of our partners and friends is a hostile state and we must renounce partnership with them. Also, what is very important, we are losing not only the achievement of the Rose Revolution, but also the achievement of 9 April – that Georgia be a free country and that Georgia be liberated from the Russian empire. The time has come about which Merab Kostava warned us – we will be close to losing freedom and at that time unity will be important. I call on every patriot to gather in parallel with those court sessions that will be held in Batumi. I have already contacted the leaders of certain political groups and here I want to say publicly that we are in full readiness for cooperation with every political group and party, because in struggle and action we must be united, all disagreements must be put aside. In every protest action, with every civic and political group we must be in coordination and together defeat the Russian regime, which is in the decisive phase of the struggle against Georgian statehood. Together we will definitely win,” – stated Irakli Pavlenishvili.
