One of the reasons they want us to disappear from parliament is that we resist their propaganda, – stated Sofio Khorguani, one of the leaders of the "Gakharia for Georgia" party and a parliamentary MP, on Palitranews' show "Resume" while talking about "Georgian Dream's" constitutional lawsuit.
Khorguani also spoke about her party's motion in the Constitutional Court, which raises the issue that the court should review the constitutionality assessment of "Gakharia for Georgia" as a separate case.
According to Khorguani, the parliamentary opposition party was added to the lawsuit newly, and there is physically no time left to prepare for the proceedings.
"Looking at it legally, it has only been a month since we were added to the lawsuit, and unlike other parties, we physically did not have the time to prepare for the lawsuit's hearing. This is one of the reasons why we made this decision. The second reason is that we are a parliamentary party and have participated in all constitutional processes. We have not renounced our mandates, which we earned under conditions of bribery, intimidation, and an unprecedented struggle.
When you read the lawsuit, there are such ridiculous arguments; it turns out that the 'Natsis' [National Movement members] are putting me on trial for 'being a Natsi'. Vasil Roinishvili is there, who was the prosecutor of Adjara during Mikheil Saakashvili's rule. Roin Shavadze was a prosecutor as well. They are 'Natsis', they were Misha's prosecutors, and they are supposed to try me. Do you know who is accusing me from over there? Tengiz Sharmanashvili, who was the deputy chairman of that commission through which Saakashvili tailored the constitution to himself like a jacket. Misha's constitutionalist and Misha's prosecutor are supposed to try me as a 'Natsi' – that's how it's written in the lawsuit, that the 'Natsis' are overthrowing the country.
If Giorgi Gakharia, who was promoted to Prime Minister because of June 20 and because of setting up the Chorchana checkpoint, is the problem and an unconstitutionally acting individual, then 'Georgian Dream' should be put on trial. It turns out that 'Georgian Dream' itself is the 'Deep State' agency that appointed Gakharia from Minister of Internal Affairs to Prime Minister [after receiving a call].
In my opinion, one of the reasons they want us to disappear from parliament is that we resist their propaganda. We were given the opportunity to say – while they were talking about Russia and now that an embargo is coming, as we become increasingly dependent on Russian gas, as they hung our market more and more on the Russian market, and at the same time you have no defense guarantees, it turns out that Russia isn't talking to them either, nor does Russia recognize them as a force to be reckoned with.
Then we were accused of LGBT propaganda, as if we were heading in that direction. We present arguments against this. They say that the West wants chaos here, but is the West forbidding us from increasing pensions and raising the minimum wage threshold? Who is stopping you, Marta Kos? With these arguments, we have severely shaken the coherent line of their propaganda," noted Khorguani.
