It is very bad when everything is assessed with fluctuations in GEL’s exchange rate, - Finance Minister Ivane Machavariani said at plenary session of Parliament on Tuesday. According to him, the floating exchange rate will be kept in the country.

“It is very bad when everything is assessed with fluctuations in GEL’s exchange rate – starting from the economic situation to the pensions. Meantime, inflation rate is lower than the target inflation. The terminologies have been replaced and these two things have been equalized, "the minister said.

According to him, the fluctuations in GEL’s exchange rate was absolutely speculative and caused by the populism that takes place in Georgia. "Today the biggest problem and the biggest threat in the world is the marginalized populism. Raging populism shakes and destroys the economy ", Minister Machavariani said.
