More than 600 000 citizens have registered land plots since August 1 of 2016,- Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze said while presenting the Land Registration Reform Interim Report. The Prime Minister noted that all difficulties, related to registration of lands, have been eradicated. Mamuka Bakhtadze said that a total of 300 000 hectare of land plots has been registered by citizen.
“As far as you know, registration of lands was one of the difficult problems for our citizens and our political team started taking active steps to solve this problem. As a result of the reform the procedures for registration of lands have been significantly simplified and this service has become available for citizens. We started this stage of the reform from August 1 of 2016 and 600 000 citizens registered lands as of today. All difficulties, related to registration of lands, have been eradicated,” Mamuka Bakhtadze said adding that the reform aims to register all land plots and to protect proprietorships in the country.
