TBC Bank to sue against central bank decision

Zviad Kordzadze, lawyer of Mamuka Khazaradze who is the Chairperson of TBC Bank’s Supervisory Board, will file a lawsuit against the request of the National Bank for resignation of TBC Bank’s Supervisory Board Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson.

Zviad Kordzadze told PalitraNews TV program “360 Degrees” that it is unclear why the central bank is demanding suspension of the authorities of Khazaradze and Japaridze due to the transaction, made 11 years ago.

When asked why the National Bank made the mentioned decision because of the transaction, made 11 years ago, Zviad Kordzadze answered that “it’s one of my arguments, which we will use.”

“It’s unclear why such a decision was made regarding the 11-year-old issue and it will be one of the motives for suing,” Kordadze said.

The National Bank of Georgia asked TBC Bank to resign TBC Bank’s Supervisory Board Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson. According to NBG, its request is linked to the transactions made in 2007-2008, which was assesses as a “violation of the legislation, regulating the conflict of interests.”
