Vessel sailing under Turkish flag fined for killing dolphin  in Georgia

The vessel sailing under Turkish flag has been fined GEL 40 900 for killing a dolphin in Batumi, Adjara region of Georgia, -the Environmental Supervision Department reports."On March 10 of the current year, a dolphin was found dead near the Batumi coast. As a result of joint activities by the Black Sea Protection Convention Division of the Environmental Supervision Department and employees of the MIA Border Police Operative-Investigative Main Division, the offender - captain of the vessel sailing under the flag of Turkey has been identified. The offender pleaded guilty. According to the decision of Batumi City Court, the offender was fined GEL 40 900 for the committed crime. The captain will be allowed to leave Georgia's territorial waters after payment of the fine.
