Acting US Defense Secretary sends letter to Georgia’s Defence Minister

Patrick Shanahan, Acting Defense Secretary of the US, has sent a letter to Georgia’s Defence Minister Levan Izoria after the meeting held in February on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference,- the Ministry of Defence told InterPressNews.

“I was a pleasure meeting with you and Prime Minister Bakhtadze at the Munich Security Council. I appreciate the tremendous work you and you team do to strengthen the US bilateral relationship with Georgia and the sacrifices that Georgian soldiers have made at ours die in Afghanistan.

Thank you again for your discussion. I look forward to working with you for continued diplomacy and defence,” the letter reads.
