Ketevan Tsikhelashvili: Over the years, our occupied region has become a military polygon

According to Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, our occupied region has become a military polygon. She said that the exercises launched in Abkhazia indicate two things.

"Unfortunately, this is not a novelty, more than 120 various military exercises and maneuvers were held last year. This time, 3000 military personnel are participating in very large-scale exercises. This indicates two things: one is that over the years, our occupied region has become a military polygon, and second is that this is the policy of Russia, reaction to any step towards Georgia's progress, strengthening of security, cooperation with American partners and moving closer to NATO, even though we have always said that it is not directed against anyone”, the Minister said.

According to her, we have unprecedented international support. “It has been indicated in a number of resolutions that the continued occupation is not only Georgia’s problem, it is a problem for the entire European security. Our partners also point out that the conflict resolution is important for European security," said Tsikhelashvili.
