Vladimir Putin: It would be fair to return the passport of Ukraine to a man who had been Georgian in the past, I mean Mikheil Saakashvili

According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, it would be fair if the Ukrainian government gives Ukraine's passport back to Mikheil Saakashvili.

"As for freedoms, it is better to start with Georgians or former Georgians than from Russia. For example, it would be fair to return the passport of Ukraine to a man who had been Georgian in the past, and today he considers himself Ukrainian. I mean Mikheil Saakashvili," Putin said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree that envisages granting Russian citizenship to the residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk district.

In response, Ukraine's elected president Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine will grant freedom and help everyone "who will be willing to fight with us for freedom".
