His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia has today blessed Iveria Virgin Maria Icon Cathedral at Makhata Mountain in Tbilisi.

The construction of the cathedral launched in 2002 and it was the first stage of construction of Virgin Maria Monastery.

The Educational Center-Museum will be built within the frameworks of the second stage. The project will be implemented jointly by the government, church and the society of Georgia.
