Flights of Georgian airlines to be suspended in Russian from July 8

Flights of Georgian airlines will be suspended on the Russian territory from July 8. Russian Transport Ministry released the relevant information. According to them, the Georgian side has already been informed of the above-mentioned.

The Transport Ministry of Russia named provision of adequate aviation security, as well as arrears, as the motive for the decision.

"The total amount of debts at this time is USD 792 543,19 and 592 251,95 Russian rubles. The Georgian side recognized the debt in 2008, but it has not paid it off up to now," the Ministry said a day after the Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that flight to Georgia would be banned from July 8.
