Georgia's foreign trade turnover decreased in January- June

The External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 5 968.3 million in January-June 2019, 0.6 percent lower compared to the same period of the last year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The value of export increased by 11.5 percent, amounting to USD 1 775.4 million, while the import decreased by 4.9 percent to USD 4 192.9 million. The trade deficit equaled USD 2 417.4 million and its share in trade turnover made up 40.5 percent.
