PM grants apartment to military wounded in Afghanistan

Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia, together with Levan Izoria, Minister of Defense of Georgia, granted a residential apartment to Sr. Lt. Ivery Buadze-Georgian military, who was heavily wounded in the Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan, the PM's press service reprots.

Senior Lieutenant Iveri Buadze, who has returned to Georgia after a medical treatment in USA and Germany, will live in a military compound and serve at the defense forces of Georgia.

The Head of Government of Georgia stressed the heroic deeds of Sr. Lt. Buadze and thanked his parents for raising the true hero.

With an initiative of the Prime Minister of Georgia, schools and universities in the country will hold meetings with Georgian military heroes to raise the future generations on the real examples of their sacrifice.

"Iveri is a true hero of modern Georgia. He saved lives of our three servicemen while serving in an international mission in Afghanistan and got very heavily wounded. Doctors in Germany and USA delivered a miraculous medical service and Ivery now stands by our side. He is a role model of unbroken Georgian spirit, who has demonstrated with his own battle that Georgia is a homeland of great and strong people. Such examples should serve as a role model for future generations," noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.

In line with instructions issued by the Prime Minister of Georgia, designated unit within the newly constructed residential block will be refurbished by this autumn.
