Two persons detained for selling counterfeit  money

The employees of the Investigative Service of the Finance Ministry have detained two persons for selling large number of fake one hundred-dollar bills ($100).

As InterPressNews was told by the Finance Ministry, the detainees brought the counterfeit bills from Turkey and sold them in Adjara region of Georgia.

Reportedly, the Investigative Service has seized $10 thousand in counterfeit bills.

“An investigation is underway under paragraph II, Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The crime envisages from 7 to 10 years of imprisonment,” the Investigative Service of the Finance Ministry said.
