Georgian police detain citizen of Azerbaijan for drug crime

Police in Georgia have detained a citizen of Azerbaijan, DoB 1966, for illegal purchase and keeping of narcotic drugs.

As the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia told InterPressNews, police have seized 114 grams of heroin from the detainee.

An investigation has been launched under sub-paragraph “a”, paragraph VI, Article 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving illegal purchase and keeping of particularly large amounts of narcotic drugs.

The detainee faces from 8 to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
