Irakli Antadze: The de facto “South Ossetian” checkpoint near Chorchana and Tsnelisi is located in a Georgian-controlled area

The de facto “South Ossetian” checkpoint near Chorchana and Tsnelisi is located in a Georgian-controlled area, - Irakli Antadze, Deputy Director of the Analytical Department of the State Security Service, told reporters after the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism meeting in Ergneti.

As Antadze noted, the topic of the checkpoint was discussed at the meeting and the position of the parties on this issue was still radically different.

“We tried to convince the participants of the meeting that the improvement of security cannot in any way be detrimental to the security of the local population and that the fears that exist are in groundless,” said Irakli Antadze.
