Alkhaz Kvitsinia refuses to recognize Raul Khajimba as winner in so-called elections

The Abkhaz militia have been mobilized in front of the election commission in the center of Sokhumi after the announcement of the preliminary results of the so-called "presidential elections". Traffic is blocked in front of the building.

According to the so-called election results, the incumbent "president" received 47.38% of votes, while his opponent - Alkhaz Kvitsinia received 46.19%. Nearly 4% of voters voted against all. So called 65.98% of the eligible voters (83 883 people) participated in the elections.

Alkhaz Kvitsinia does not recognize Raul Khajimba as the winner and is going to appeal against the so-called election results. He claims that he got more votes than Khajimba. Kvitsinia's supporters are currently gathering in his headquarters.
