Murat Jioev slams EU monitors over "illegal visit" to "South Ossetia”

De facto Tskhinvali has slammed EU monitors over "illegal visit" to "South Ossetian territory" in Tsnelisi, - TASS reports.

Special Representative of the “President” of so-called South Ossetia Murat Jioev said that EU monitors had no mandate to work in "South Ossetia" and that any visit made by them was "illegal."

“EU monitors illegally visited the right bank of the Tsnelisi settlement. Their mandate is not valid in South Ossetia. So each of their visits is illegal. They only have a mandate to work on the territory of Georgia, not on the territory of South Ossetia and Abkhazia," Murat Jioev said.

He also added that such actions of EU monitors "are a sign of disrespect towards the people of South Ossetia."
