The cancellation of direct air flights between Russia and Georgia has complicated the work of Switzerland as a representative of Russia's interests in Georgia, Swiss Federal Assembly's Council of States President Jean-Rene Fournier said at the meeting with State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
"The cancellation of direct flights between Russia and Georgia has had a negative impact and allowed the minority, that does not have good relations with Russia, to be strengthened," Fournier said.
He said the cancellation of direct flights also hurt those who demand pragmatic relations between the two countries.
“This has led to the punishment of those who are in favor of good relationships. This decision is damaging to the whole Georgian economy, ” Fournier said.
