Georgian foreign trade turnover slightly increased y/y in January-September 2019

The external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 9 193.7 million in January-September 2019, 0.5 percent higher compared to the same period pf the last year, the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat) said on Monday.

According to Geostat, exports from Georgia increased by 11.1 % year-on-year to USD 2 719.2 million and imports decreased by 3.3 % to USD 6 474.5 million in the reported period.

The negative trade balance was USD 3 755.3 million in January-September and its share in external trade turnover constituted 40.8 percent. The exports excluding re-exports amounted to USD 1 690.5 million, 1.6 percent higher year-on-year.
