Grigory Karasin, who was Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and became Senator in September, will continue to participate in negotiations with Georgian Prime Minister's Special Representative for Relatios with Russia Zurab Abashidze, - Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said today's press conference.
“On the instruction of the Russian authorities, Mr. Karasin continues to work in this format. The next, 23rd meeting is expected to take place in Prague in late November,” Zakharova said.
According to her, Karasin-Abashidze's format played an important role in normalizing relations between Moscow and Tbilisi.
“We do not have official diplomatic relations, but we have humanitarian, technical contacts,” Zakharova said.
