Sopho Kiladze, Chairwoman of the Parliament's Human Rights Committee, confirms that she was a victim of psychological abuse by her ex-husband.

Kiladze also confirmed that a restraining order was issued by police against her ex-husband, but she denied physical violence.

"Yes, I confirm that I was a victim of psychological violence and I am in fact an example that any person, including a human rights activist or a Member of Parliament, may find herself in a similar situation. However, at the same time, I take care of the emotional state of the people surrounding me, their health, as well as my underage son's best interests, and therefore, I cannot provide more details.

I do not confirm the issuance of a restraining order with respect to physical abuse. I don't know where this information came from. If they read the restraining order, they will find that it only concerns psychological violence,” Sophie Kiladze told the Mtavari Arkhi TV.
