Police in Georgia detain two foreign citizens for using 500€ fake bank notes

The employees the Investigative Service of the Finance Ministry of Georgia have detained two foreign citizens for using 500€ fake bank notes, the Investigative Service has told InterPressNews.

“An investigation has established that the detainees imported and used 20 pcs of 500€ fake bank notes in Kvemo Kartli region of Georgia. Police have seized €10 000 worth of counterfeit bank notes,” the Investigative Service said.

An investigation is underway under provision II, Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The crime envisages from 7 to 10 years of imprisonment.
