MEP on Vazha Gaprindashvili: There is no legal grounds to retain any Georgian citizen in his own land

Doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili and any other Georgian citizen, who has been retained, has to be released immediately, because there are no legal grounds to retain any Georgian citizen in his own land, - MEP Nacho Sanchez Amor told reporters.

“The presence of forces not related to the sovereignty of Georgia is clear for any country of European Union. We support strongly the sovereignty of Georgia and the territorial integrity of Georgia. I visited myself twice the de facto border, and it is not legitimate and I think the doctor and any other Georgian citizen, who has been retained, has to be released immediately, because there are no legal grounds to retain any Georgian citizen in his own land, on his own ground”, the MEP told reporters.
