De facto Vice-President says Raul Khajimba not to run in the next presidential elections

According to the de facto Vice-President of occupied Abkhazia, Raul Khajimba will not run in the next presidential elections.

“Raul Khajiba, as Abkhazian, as a politician, has done a lot for his country. He passed a difficult political path. He had been the president of the country for five years. The country's budget was fulfilled for the first time under his rule. He set up a constitutional court. It is too early to evaluate his performance,” he said.

He said he "does not see the point of appealing against the court's decision."

“His resignation is a balanced decision. After such a brave move, I think it would be wrong to appeal. Let those who can really unite our people come into politics," the de facto vice-president said.

De facto President of occupied Abkhazia Raul Khajimba signed a decree on voluntary resignation. According to the so-called Central Election Commission, the de facto presidential elections will be held on March 22.
