Raul Khajimba, who has just resigned as Abkhazia’s so-called “president”, said on Monday he plans to continue political activities but is undecided whether to run for “president” or not.
When asked whether he would run for president again, he said, "It is not the right time speak about it. Let us wait and see."
On January 9, protesters broke into the so-called presidential administration building in occupied Sokhumi, demanding resignation of so-called president Raul Khajimba. Abkhazia’s so-called parliament gathered for an extraordinary session on the same day and issued an appeal to Raul Khajimba calling on him to step down. Later, Khajimba signed his resignation letter. So-called snap “presidential elections” will be held on March 22 in occupied Abkhazia.
