Tbilisi selected as Best European Destinations 2020 contestant, voting begins today

Tbilisi has been selected as a contestant for the Best European Destinations 2020 competition, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said at the municipal government meeting.

As Kaladze noted, the capital needs support in order to win the contest.

"A few months ago we said at the government meeting that Tbilisi was selected as a contestant for the Best European Destinations 2020 competition. For this, we announced a photo contest in order to send the best photos to the European competition that is being held electronically. Eight photographers have been selected for this competition and I would like to thank all of them.

As for the other contestants, they are London, Vienna, Athens, Rome, Amsterdam, Prague, Brussels, Krakow, Paris, Valencia, Lugano, etc.

Winning this competition is one of the best ways to promote Tbilisi tourism. We must use all platforms to make our country, our city the most attractive, most popular. The number of tourists is increasing every year, which is certainly welcome. It positively impacts the economy, development of the country, its progress”, the Mayor said.

According to him, a special link has been created for the contest: www.vote.ebdest.in and voting begins on January 15, 2020, at 03:00 am and ends on February 5, at 2:59 pm. Voting from one IP address is possible once every 7 days, without any registration. Voting is available from any geographical location.

A special hashtag has also been created to support Tbilisi at the contest: #votefortbilisi.
