So-called MP of Tskhinvali de-facto parliament says Abkhazians have own issues to clear up with Georgians

Abkhazians have own issues to clear up with Georgians, Amiran Diakonov, so-called “lawmaker” of de-facto parliament of Tskhinvali region, said while responding to the statements of Aslan Bzhania, leader of the Abkhazian opposition and so-called “presidential candidate”.

“Abkhazia will decide its fate, including its future relations with Georgia, itself, independently. Taking the historical aspects into consideration, the situation there is different compared to South Ossetia. They have their own issues to clear up with Georgia, including those related to the forcible resettlement of Georgians to Abkhazia and other historical or legal aspects, "Diakonov said.

According to him, sooner or later relations between Georgia and South Ossetia will be settled.

“Another issue is the conditions under which our relations can be restored between our countries. Will Georgia get rid of fascism? Will it recognize our independence? the genocide of the 20s? Will it recognize the aggression of the 1990s, 2000s? Will Georgia free South Ossetia from its military servicemen who are destabilizing the region? It all depends on Georgia's stance,” the so-called “member of parliament” said.

There should be a dialogue between Sokhumi and Tbilisi; It does not matter in what format and in what form, Aslan Bzhania, leader of the Abkhazian opposition and so-called “presidential candidate”, said in an exclusive interview with InterPressNews.
