The investigation must be launched and political motives may be revealed, Nino Lomjaria, the Public Defender of Georgia, said while responding to the physical confrontation between UNM member Levan Khabeishvili and Georgian Dream members of the Tbilisi City Council.

"This fact is a criminal incident. I expect that the investigation will be launched, since the victim is a member of a political party, there may be political motives in this case. We pay a particular attention to the similar cases. The year of elections has started and if there is not a very strong response to this fact, unfortunately, we will have a very difficult year ahead,” Nino Lomjaria said.
