Police detain one person for murder of Dodo Gugeshashvili’s son and attempted murder of retired colonel

Police have detained one person for murder of Nodar Gugeshashvili, the son of retired colonel Dodo Gugeshashvili, and attempted murder of Dodo Gugeshashvili.

The Ministry said at a briefing on Friday that police have detained Z.M. (DoB 1975) for the murder of Dodo Gugeshashvili’s son and the attempted murder of Dodo Gugeshashvili.

The crime is punishable by imprisonment for 17 to 20 years or life imprisonment.

The investigation has established that on February 7 of 2018, the detainee fatally shot Dodo Gugeshashvili’s son and wounded Dodo Gugeshashvili in their own home.

The investigation is in progress under Article 108 and sub-paragraph a, paragraph III, Article 19-109 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving premeditated murder and premeditated attempted murder of two or more persons.
