Georgian police detain two Azerbaijani citizens for drug crime

Police in Georgia have detained two citizens of Azerbaijan – identified as Kh.N. (DoB 1985) and N.G. (DoB 1982) – for drug crime in Tbilisi.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia told InterPressNews that police seized narcotic drugs, containing Alpha-PVP, Heroin, Morphine, Methadone and Codeine, during the personal search of the detainees.

An investigation is in progress under paragraphs III and VI, Article 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving illegal purchase and keep of especially large amounts of narcotic drugs.

The detainees face up to 20 years in prison or a life sentence.
