Security Service denies illegal surveillance allegations

The State Security Service categorically denies the completely ungrounded and politically motivated allegations of the United National Movement, InterPressNews was told by the State Security Service of Georgia.

"It should be noted that similar allegations made by specific political forces and their activists against the State Security Service at various times are not based on facts and evidence and serve only to discredit the agency and serve political purposes," the report said.

The members of the United National Movement’s party claim that the State Security Service is carrying out illegal surveillance of Major Giorgi Dvalishvili, who was involved in the detention operation of Kita Izoria, the brother of Georgia’s former Defence Minister Levan Izoria.
