Famous Georgian film director dies

Famous Georgian film director Giorgi Shengelaia died at the age of 82.

Giorgi Shengelaia was born on May 11, 1937. He was a director and writer, known for Alaverdoba (1963), Pirosmani (1969), Melodies of the Vera Quarter (1973), Voyage of the Young Composer (1985), Khareba and Gogia (1987) and etc.

Shengelaia is a Rustaveli Prize Laureate, People's Artist of Georgia.
