Amiran Gamkrelidze advises population to refrain from traveling to China, Iran, South Korea and Italy

Amiran Gamkrelidze, Director General of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, advises population to refrain from traveling to China, Iran, South Korea and Italy.

Amiran Gamkrelidze made the above statement at a press conference today.

“I have one request regarding the new coronavirus. We have repeatedly called on people to refrain from traveling to China. Now we call on the population to refrain from traveling to China, Iran, South Korea and Italy, especially the northern part, unless it is particularly urgent. I emphasize that this is not forbidden, but if there is no urgency, we advise you to refrain from traveling. The same is recommended by the European and US Centers for Disease Control," Gamkrelidze said.
