Checkpoints set up at entrances to Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Zugdidi, Poti and Gori

Officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are monitoring the implementation of the state of emergency measures across the country for 24 hours across the country.

According to the Ministry, due to high epidemiological risk, checkpoints have been set up at the entrances to Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Zugdidi, Poti and Gori.

“Officers of the relevant units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the Defense Forces, are controlling the movement of persons across the administrative boundaries of the said cities and the fulfillment of tightened state of emergency measures through the checkpoints. Thermo-screening of citizens is also carried out on site. The Ministry of Internal Affairs regularly explains to the local population the quarantine restrictions in detail and helps them as much as possible,” reads the statement of the Ministry.
